Simon Harmer ended Washington Sundar’s defiance by getting him caught out in the slips on Day 3 of the second Test between India and South Africa in Guwahati on Monday, November 24. With the scalp, the off-spinner also broke the 82-run stand between Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav for the eighth wicket that lasted 208 deliveries. Sundar departed for 48 runs off 92 balls, comprising one six and two fours.

The dismissal came in the 79th over of India’s first innings. Harmer bowled a length ball outside off. It was a slower delivery that turned away after pitching. Sundar pushed at it with an open bat face, and the turn on offer induced an outside-edge, and Aiden Markram completed a smart catch in the first slip.
