Virat Kohli walks out of Ranchi airport with former U19 teammate ahead of IND vs SA 2025 ODIs [Watch]

Star batter Virat Kohli arrived in Ranchi ahead of the upcoming ODI series between India and South Africa. The three-match series will begin on November 30 with the first game to be played at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi.

Virat Kohli was seen walking out of the Ranchi airport on Wednesday, November 26, with his former U-19 teammate Saurabh Tiwary. Saurabh is currently the Secretary of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA).

The two were all smiles while having a conversation as they exited the Ranchi airport. Kohli could be seen in casual attire, wearing a black t-shirt with a denim jacket. Meanwhile, Saurabh Tiwary was seen suited up in formal attire.

Notably, Kohli had arrived in Mumbai a day earlier on Tuesday, November 25.

Virat Kohli and Saurabh Tiwary were part of the Indian team that won the U19 World Cup in Malaysia in 2008. Notably, they also played together when Saurabh was part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL from 2011 to 2013.


South Africa ODIs an important series for Virat Kohli

The limelight will be on Virat Kohli during the three-match ODI series against South Africa at home. With question marks over his place in the 2027 World Cup squad, each inning will be a test for Kohli.

In their previous ODI series against Australia Down Under, he disappointed with two consecutive ducks in the first two matches. However, he redeemed himself with an unbeaten half-century in the final ODI, where he scored 74* off 81 balls with seven boundaries in his knock.

He will be keen to carry the form from the last match into this series and put up a consistent performance. In 305 ODIs so far, Kohli has amassed 14255 runs at an average of 57.71 with 51 hundreds and 75 half-centuries.

He has an impressive record against the Proteas in the format. In 31 games, he has scored 1504 runs at an average of 65.39 with five hundreds and eight half-centuries with a best score of an unbeaten 160.
