Ace India batter Virat Kohli smashed a stunning six off a short delivery from Marco Jansen in the second ODI of the three-match series against South Africa. The match is being played on Wednesday, December 3, at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
On the first ball of the 33rd over of India’s innings, Jansen bowled a 115.6 kph short delivery. Kohli stepped down the pitch and audaciously pulled it, using his wrists to guide the ball over long-on for a spectacular six.

This was Kohli’s second six of the game, his first coming as part of his opening runs when he smashed Lungi Ngidi over backward square leg to get off the mark in the sixth over.
Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad take India to a strong position in the 2nd ODI
After being asked to bat first, India’s opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal added 40 runs before the former was dismissed for 14 off eight balls by Nandre Burger. Jaiswal soon followed, departing for 22 off 38 balls, hitting two fours and a six.
Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad then took control, scoring freely and dominating the innings. Gaikwad reached his fifty off 52 balls, while Kohli brought up his milestone in 47 balls, as India reached 158/2 after 25 overs.
The duo continued the momentum, with Gaikwad reaching his maiden ODI hundred off just 77 balls in the 34th over with a boundary. The right-handed batter eventually finished with 105 off 83 balls, hitting 12 fours and two sixes, and in the process shared a 195-run partnership with Kohli for the third wicket.
At the time of writing, the hosts were 257/3 after 36 overs, with Kohli on 96 and KL Rahul yet to score.
