The right-handed batter was last seen in action during the three-match away ODI series against Australia, which concluded on October 25. Kohli had a rough start, getting dismissed for a duck in the first two games. However, the veteran batter bounced back strongly in the final match in Sydney, scoring an unbeaten 74 to guide India to a nine-wicket win, though the visitors eventually lost the series 2-1.
