Team India's star batter Virat Kohli notched up his second consecutive century in the ongoing three-match home ODI series against South Africa. The seasoned campaigner slammed his 53rd ton in the format, finishing with 102 runs off 93 balls in Raipur on Wednesday, December 3, during the second fixture.

After the hosts were put to bat first, Kohli played a sublime knock, focusing on taking calculated risks and strike rotation. The former captain struck two sixes and seven fours, finishing with an impressive strike rate of 109.68.

Kohli crossed the 100-run mark on the final ball of the 38th over. He reached the milestone with a single off left-arm pacer Marco Jansen's bowling.

The 37-year-old jumped and punched the air in delight to celebrate the century. He also kissed his wedding ring before looking to the sky with folded hands. Here's a video of his celebration:

Virat Kohli has looked in stunning form in the ongoing series. He was instrumental in India's 17-run win in the opening encounter in Ranchi, scoring 135 runs off 120 deliveries.

Virat Kohli's knock ended soon after his 53rd ODI century as he perished to Lungi Ngidi in the 40th over. The right-arm pacer began the over with a short-of-length delivery outside the off stump.

The ace batter went for a big hit down the ground, but failed to get it from the middle of the bat. Aiden Markram completed the catch at long on to end a fine batting performance.

Meanwhile, Ruturaj Gaikwad also did a brilliant job with the bat in the clash. Batting at No. 4, he hit his maiden ODI hundred, scoring 105 runs off just 83 balls.

Kohli and Gaikwad put the Men in Blue in a commanding position by adding 195 runs from 156 balls for the third wicket. At the time of writing, India were 295/5 after 42 overs, with KL Rahul (29* off 19) and Ravindra Jadeja (2* off 3) at the crease.
