Virat Kohli showered a heartwarming gesture for the Proteas opener Quinton de Kock in the third ODI in Vizag on Saturday, December 6. The former India skipper clapped on alongside South Africa players, who were in the dugout, after de Kock slammed an 80-ball century. Notably, the wicketkeeper-batter played under Virat Kohli's captaincy for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2018.
The reaction came after the left-handed batter slammed a six off Harshit Rana to bring up his seventh ODI century against the Men in Blue, the most tons by a designated wicketkeeper. With that, de Kock also equaled legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar, AB de Villiers, Rohit Sharma, and Saeed Anwar for most tons in an away country. Overall, it was his 23rd ODI ton, joint-most by a wicketkeeper alongside Kumar Sangakkara.

De Kock went for the maximum as Rana bowled a half-tracker on the pads, angling into the batter from around the wicket. The southpaw waited and whipped it over square leg with power before taking off his helmet and raising his bat to soak in the applause.
