Team India's middle-order batter Tilak Varma pulled off a sensational low catch during the second T20I against South Africa in Mullanpur on Thursday, December 11. Varma dove forward to send the dangerous Dewald Brevis packing for 14, giving Axar Patel his first wicket of the innings and an important breakthrough for the team, given the scheme of things.
The dismissal occurred in the 17th over of the innings as Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav brought in Axar for his third. Brevis, who was on 14 off nine deliveries, pulled without much connection as Tilak ran in from long-on to take the catch just inches above the ground. Due to the young South African's potential to dish out the big hits in the death overs, the wicket was crucial for the home side.
Here's the video of Dewald Brevis' dismissal:
Although Brevis was in decent form in the preceding ODI series, the right-hander has struggled to chip in with big runs in the two T20Is thus far. The 22-year-old made 22 in the first T20I, followed by 14 in the second.
Tilak Varma likely to play a big role as Team India face a massive run-chase

Meanwhile, Tilak may need to play a significant role as the Men in Blue have been set a massive target of 214 to go 2-0 up in the five-game T20I series. Quinton de Kock was the star of the show, top-scoring for the Proteas with 90 off 46 deliveries, consisting of five fours and seven sixes.
The visitors seemed to have lost their way in the 17th over when they lost the dangerous Brevis, but Donovan Ferreira and David Miller helped their side finish well, stitching an unbroken 53-run stand off 23 balls. Axar and Varun Chakravarthy were the only ones to take wickets, with the latter bagging figures of 4-0-29-2.
India won the first T20I in Cuttack by a massive 101 runs, defending 175 comfortably.
