"The sun's been a great therapy" - Shreyas Iyer relaxes at the beach as he continues recovery from injury post AUS vs IND 2025 series [In Picture]

Team India star Shreyas Iyer shared a joyful picture of himself while recovering from injury post the ODI series against Australia. He had suffered a life-threatening injury.

However, he appeared to be doing well on his recovery path. On Monday, November 10, he posted a picture of himself on his Instagram story, enjoying a beach vacation.

Shreyas could be seen wearing a blue bucket hat, reflector shades, and had his chain on. He was all smiles, relaxing at the beach while continuing his recovery process.

"The sun's been great therapy. Grateful for all the love and care," he wrote on his story as he shared the picture.

There is no update on when he would return to the field. He could be out of action for at least three months. India are set to host South Africa for a multi-format series at home. Shreyas was not named in the squads across formats.

He last played during the third ODI against Australia in Sydney last month, where he picked up the injury.

What injury did Shreyas Iyer sustain?

For those unaware, Shreyas Iyer sustained a lacerated spleen injury while fielding during the third ODI against Australia. While attempting to take a catch, he sprinted forward to take a diving catch to dismiss Alex Carey. He did complete the catch successfully.

However, he was on the ground right away and had to be taken to the hospital immediately for scans. It was then found out that he sustained a lacerated spleen injury that had also caused internal bleeding. Fortunately, he was given the required treatment at the right time and was out of danger.

"Shreyas Iyer sustained a blunt injury to his abdomen while fielding during the third ODI against Australia on 25 October 2025, resulting in a laceration of his spleen with internal bleeding. The injury was promptly identified, and the bleeding was immediately arrested following a minor procedure. He has undergone appropriate medical management for the same," the BCCI had stated in an official statement. (via India Today)

Shreyas has represented the country in 14 Tests, 73 ODIs, and 51 T20Is so far. He will be keen to complete his recovery process and take the field soon.
