After his unbeaten 65 in the third and final ODI against South Africa in Vizag, Team India star batter Virat Kohli poked fun at his teammate Arshdeep Singh.

With Arshdeep claiming that a century for the veteran was on the cards if there were more runs, Kohli hilariously said the left-arm seamer would have scored a ton too with the ball.

With India winning the toss after it went 20 times against them, they opted to field first. Chasing 271, the 155-run partnership between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma set things up perfectly for India. Although Kohli had struck centuries in the first two games, the 37-year-old managed only 65 runs as India chased down 271, with 61 balls to spare.

In a video shared on social media, Arshdeep said:

"Paaji, run kam reh gaye, century aaj pakki thi waise (Paaji, runs were less otherwise another century was on the cards."

In response, the Delhi-born cricketer quipped:

"Toss jeet gaye nahin toh teri bhi pakki thi dew mein. (We won the toss otherwise a century was on the cards for you too in the dew)," he addd

"Just playing the way I have this series has been the most satisfying for me. Feel really free in my mind, whole game is coming together nicely. I've tried to maintain my own standards and make an impact. I can bat long and according to the situation. You have many phases where you feel doubt. You feel nervous, especially in batting where one mistake can cost you. It's a whole journey, getting better, becoming a better person. I can realise the negative thinking patterns, knowing and working on that helps the temperament. I'm glad to still be contribute to the team. When I play freely, I know I can hit sixes. Just wanted to push my boundaries and go well. The first innings was the best this series."

India will now turn their attention to the five-game T20I series against South Africa, beginning December 9 in Cuttack.
