Team India stars met star Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone at a media event days after their World Cup 2025 triumph. The Women in Blue beat South Africa by 52 runs on November 2 in Mumbai.

All-rounder Sneh Rana and explosive opener Shafali Verma met Deepika at the event. Sneh was dressed in a green business suit jacket and pant set with white shoes, while Shafali sported a black shirt with a brown jacket and brown pants with black shoes.

The two Team India stars could be seen talking on the stage as well. Sneh Rana posted a video of the same on her Instagram handle. She could be seen hugging Deepika and having a conversation with the Bollywood star. The all-rounder even posed for a picture with her.

Shafali scored a crucial 78-ball 87 in the final. She also bagged two wickets and was awarded 'Player of the Match.' Sneh Rana was not part of the playing 11 in the final. Overall, she played six matches and scored 99 runs, along with picking up seven wickets.


India's first-ever ICC trophy

The victory against South Africa in the World Cup 2025 final was a historic moment for the Indian team. It was the first-ever ICC trophy won by the Women in Blue. They had played two World Cup finals previously in 2005 and 2017, but lost on both occasions.

India have played four semi-finals in the Women's T20 World Cup and even played the final in 2020 but lost to Australia.

At the World Cup 2025, they finished fourth on the table after the group stage with three wins, as many defeats, and a washed-out game from seven matches. They faced Australia in the semi-final and pulled off a record chase.

Set a mammoth target of 339, the Women in Blue got over the line in 48.3 overs with five wickets to spare. Jemimah Rodrigues scored an unbeaten 127 while skipper Harmanpreet Kaur struck a vital 88-ball 89.

In the final, they batted first and posted a competitive total of 298/7. They then bowled South Africa out for 246 to win the title.
