India pacer Mohit Sharma has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. The 37-year-old shared the news on Wednesday, December 3, through a social media post. During his career, the right-arm pacer played 26 ODIs for India, claiming 31 wickets at an average of 32.90, with a strike rate of 36.1, an economy of 5.45, and best figures of 4/22. Mohit was also part of India’s squad in the 2015 ODI World Cup, where he took 13 wickets in eight matches.Additionally, he appeared in eight T20Is, picking up six wickets at an average of 30.83, a strike rate of 23.0, and an economy of 8.04, with best figures of 2/28.In his announcement on Instagram, he expressed his gratitude to the BCCI and his coaches, writing:“Today with a full heart, I announce my retirement from all formats of cricket. He took 134 wickets at an average of 26.21, with a strike rate of 17.9 and an economy of 8.77, including best figures of 5/10. He also won the Purple Cap in the 2014 season while playing for CSK, finishing with 23 wickets in 16 games.
