Despite finishing as India's highest run-getter in the Women's World Cup 2025, Smriti Mandhana has been dethroned as the No.1 batter in the latest ODI batter rankings by Laura Wolvaardt. Jemimah Rodrigues, another instrumental player in the Women in Blue's landmark World Cup victory, made her way into the top 10.
Wolvaardt overtook Mandhana after aggregating a record 571 runs in the tournament, headlined by a hundred each in the semi-final and the final. The 26-year-old this attained a career-high rating of 814 points. Mandhana, who held the top spot for the entirety of the tournament, dropped to second with rating points of 811, after finishing with 434 runs.
Among the bowlers, Shree Charani, who took three wickets in the two World Cup knockout games, has moved up seven spots to 23rd with 511 rating points in her kitty. Deepti Sharma, who earned the Player of the Tournament award, has surged to fourth in the all-rounder rankings with 392 rating points. The spin-bowling all-rounder has left behind Australia's Annabel Sutherland.
"Everyone supported each other, through good days and bad" - Smriti Mandhana on Indian team

Speaking to the broadcasters after the win, Mandhana thanked fans for their unwavering support over the last month. She also stated that their previous World Cup heartbreaks only strengthened their resolve. She said, as quoted by IANS:
"Every World Cup we’ve gone into, there have been so many heartbreaks for all of us. However, we always believed that we had a greater responsibility - not just to win, but to continue growing women’s cricket. And honestly, just look at the support we’ve had over the last month and a half. It’s been incredible. To finally lift the World Cup today - I’ll take those 45 sleepless nights any day for this moment. That last World Cup was definitely tough for all of us to take. But after that, we had a clear focus - to get fitter, stronger, and better in every area."
Mandhana also underlined the positive environment in the dressing room as an integral factor behind their victory.
"And honestly, what’s special about this team - and no one really talks about it - is how much we stuck together. Everyone supported each other, through good days and bad. We genuinely celebrated each other’s success. The team environment this time… it was just so positive, so connected. That’s been the biggest difference, I think," she concluded.
Shafali Verma was the Player of the Match in the final for her knock of 87 and two scalps in seven overs.
