Ace India batter Virat Kohli’s sister, Bhawna Kohli Dhingra, shared a heartwarming message as the star cricketer registered his 53rd ODI century. He achieved the milestone in the ongoing second ODI of the three-match series against South Africa on Wednesday, December 3, at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur.
Coming in to bat at No. 3, the Delhi-born cricketer looked in sublime touch, opening his account with a six off Lungi Ngidi. The 37-year-old reached his fifty off 47 balls before accelerating to his hundred in 90 deliveries. He eventually finished with 102 off 93 balls, smashing seven fours and two sixes.
Reacting to Kohli’s masterclass, his sister Bhawna shared an Instagram story for the star batter, writing:
“Roar Tiger. You make us all proud and those who love cricket gets a feast that they cherish.”

This also marked Kohli’s second consecutive hundred in ODI cricket, having scored a brilliant 135 off 120 balls in the first game, where he was also named Player of the Match.

Put in to bat, India’s opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal put together 40 runs before the former was removed for 14 off eight balls in the fifth over. Jaiswal followed soon after, dismissed for 22 off 38 deliveries after striking two fours and a six off Marco Jansen.
Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad then took charge, putting on a superb 195-run stand off 156 balls for the third wicket. Gaikwad went on to register his maiden ODI century, scoring 105 off 83 deliveries, while Virat Kohli brought up his 53rd ODI ton with a composed 102 off 93 balls.
At the time of writing, the hosts were 317/5 after 45 overs, with skipper KL Rahul batting on 43 and Ravindra Jadeja on nine at the crease.
