Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja struck for the second time in the second innings with the help of wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant to dismiss Wiaan Mulder in the first Test against South Africa at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The stand-in skipper, in Shubman Gill's absence, took a sharp catch to leave the Proteas struggling on a tricky pitch on Saturday, November 15.
South Africa were struggling to keep up after coming into bat for the second time in the contest. The bowlers brought the visitors into the game by bowling out India for 189, earlier in the day, handing them only a slender lead. However, the hosts responded by taking their first wicket at the stroke of Tea, and then wreaking havoc in the third session.
South Africa were in trouble after losing both their opening batters, and Jadeja heaped more misery by getting the better of Wiaan Mulder. The all-rounder was looking relatively assured at the crease, having scored a boundary off the veteran spinner just the previous over.
In the third delivery of the 17th over, Mulder was undone by a delivery that had grip, turn, and bounce. The right-handed batter could not react in time to the extra bounce as the ball hit his glove, before Pant took a sharp, reflex catch to seal the dismissal. Have a look at the dismissal right here:

The veteran spinner struck once again just a couple of deliveries after dismissing Mulder, to get the batter of Tony de Zorzi as well. The left-handed batter had to depart after a soft dismissal, with extra bounce playing a role once again, as Dhruv Jurel claimed a simple catch at short leg.
South Africa were reduced to 40-4 after 17 overs as the left-handed spinners, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav, reigned supreme. At the time of writing. Tristan Stubbs and Temba Bavuma are hanging on after building a slender lead of 24 runs.
