South Africa seamer Corbin Bosch dismissed India’s vice-captain Rishabh Pant in the penultimate over before lunch on Day 2 (Saturday, November 15) of the first Test in the two-match series. The contest is being played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The breakthrough came on the fourth ball of the 44th over of the hosts’ first innings. Bowling from around the wicket, Bosch delivered a short-of-a-length ball that angled into Pant’s body. Cramped for room on the pull shot, Pant was struck on the glove, and the ball ballooned off it as Proteas wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne completed a simple catch.
