Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma has been appointed captain of India A for the upcoming Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025. The multi-nation tournament is set to be played from November 14 to 23 in Qatar.

India A have been placed in Group B alongside Pakistan A, Oman, and UAE, while Group A features Afghanistan A, Bangladesh A, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka A.

On Tuesday, November 4, the BCCI announced the 15-member squad for the event, naming Jitesh Sharma as skipper. The wicketkeeper-batter is currently part of India’s ongoing T20I series against Australia. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians (MI) and Punjab all-rounder Naman Dhir has been appointed vice-captain, with young batting prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi earning his maiden India A call-up.

The squad also includes Punjab Kings (PBKS) promising batters Priyansh Arya and Nehal Wadhera, while Suyash Sharma and Harsh Dubey are set to lead the spin department. In the pace attack, Gurjapneet Singh and Vijaykumar Vyshak add depth and variety to the bowling lineup.

Jitesh Sharma-led side will kick off their Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025 campaign against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday, November 14. Their second group-stage match will be against Pakistan A on Sunday, November 16, followed by the final league encounter against Oman on Tuesday, November 18.

Both semi-finals are scheduled for Friday, November 21, while the final will take place on Sunday, November 23. All matches will be played at the West End International Cricket Stadium in Doha, Qatar.
