Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have confirmed their list of retained and released players ahead of the IPL 2026 auction. There are hardly any surprises as RCB have retained most of their big names like skipper Rajat Patidar, Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, Phil Salt, Jitesh Sharma, Krunal Pandya, Tim David, Romario Shepherd and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Looking at the players they have released, the Bengaluru franchise have let go batting all-rounder Liam Livingstone, who had a mixed IPL 2025 season. Mayank Agarwal, Tim Seifert and Lungi Ngidi are also among the prominent names who have been released by RCB ahead of the IPL 2026 auction.
The Bengaluru franchise ended their long and frustrating hunt for a maiden title by winning the IPL 2025 edition. They had been runners-up on three previous occasions - 2009, 2011, and 2016.
