Pallekele International Cricket Stadium Schedule T20 World Cup 2026: Complete match list, dates, venues and timings in IST

The much-awaited schedule for T20 World Cup 2026 was confirmed on Tuesday, November 25. The tournament will be played from February 7 to March 8. The 20-team event will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Pallekele International Cricket Stadium is among the eight venues (five in India and three in Sri Lanka) that have been finalized for the upcoming World Cup.

The first match of T20 World Cup 2026 to be played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium will be a Group B clash between Sri Lanka and Oman on February 12. The Lankans will then take on Australia on February 16. Ireland and Zimbabwe will clash in another Group B match on February 17.

Pallekele will host another Group B match between Australia and Oman on February 20. The venue will also host three Super 8 Group 2 matches - Y1 vs Y4 on February 22, Y1 vs Y3 on February 24 and Y3 vs Y4 on February 28.

T20 World Cup 2026 format

As mentioned earlier, the T20 World Cup will feature 20 teams. The participating nations have been divided into four groups of five each. The top two teams following the conclusion of the group stage with progress to the Super Eights, from where the top four sides will qualify for the knockouts.

The first semifinal of the T20 World Cup will be played in Kolkata/ Colombo (Premadasa) on March 4, while the second semifinal will be held in Mumbai on March 5. The final will be played in Ahmedabad/ Colombo on March 8.
