"We blew the candles out today. We had a couple of blokes involved, just like yeah Happy Birthday and blew the candles out. I actually forgot about it until one part of the world lit up my Instagram and then I realised it was the 19th and we're two years down the track. So I appreciate them reminding. Not a bad night. The bat is at home just in a case. I've got them locked up in a little box. They're sitting there. I don't think I would have used it again. It's done its job," he said on the 'Willow Talk Cricket Podcast'.

Head was also named 'Player of the Match' for his stunning century in the 2023 World Cup final. Notably, India were unbeaten throughout the tournament and their only defeat came in the summit clash, making the victory more significant. It was Australia's sixth ODI World Cup win, the most by any team.

Head joined SRH in 2024 and played a massive role in their run to the final. He scored 567 runs from 14 innings at an average of 40.50 and a strike-rate of 191.55 with a hundred and four half-centuries.

On being retained ahead of the 2026 season, the left-hander expressed that he was looking forward to being back with SRH. He also praised his opening partner, Abhishek Sharma.

"Maybe they think he can still do it. So it is not bad timing (IPL retention close to WC 23 anniversary). Great relationships there, so pleased with that. Dan and Pat and the boys, felt like we had a great first year. Last year was here and there. We can always improve but the environment of the group, the guys we've got, Abhi's excelled over the last 12 months so it'll be nice to get back with him. I would say he was a part-time rockstar last year, he's a full-time rockstar now. Mix that with a couple of other boys and it's good fun. So I'll be looking forward to my time going back," he said.

Last season, he scored 374 runs from 12 innings at a strike-rate of 162.60 with three fifties.
