India vice-captain Shubman Gill failed to deliver with the bat in the third T20I against Australia in Hobart on Sunday, November 2. The right-handed batter departed for 15 runs off 12 deliveries as the Men in Blue lost both their openers inside the powerplay. Nathan Ellis trapped him lbw plumb. Gill took a DRS review, but the replay showed the ball would have crashed into the stumps.
Gill had previously managed just five runs in the second T20I, where India lost by four wickets. In his last 10 innings, the Punjab batter has managed 184 runs at an average of 23 without a half-century.
Fans on X trolled Shubman Gill for yet another failure Down Under. One user wrote:

Another user commented:
"Why is Shubman Gill still in the playing XI?"
A third user added:
"Having said it time and again, Shubman Gill is the biggest fraud in the shorter formats. When will the new poster boy of indian time will be replaced by the deserving Jsiswal?"

"He needs to convert those chances into performances" - Irfan Pathan slammed Shubman Gill after the 2nd T20I
Former India all-rounder recently questioned Shubman Gill's poor form in T20Is. The cricketer-turned-analyst pointed out how the opener has failed to deliver big in his last 10 games. He said on his YouTube channel:
"Questions will also be raised about Shubman Gill. Look, Shubman Gill has replaced Sanju Samson, who had scored three centuries, to open the innings for India’s T20 team."
"In his last ten innings, he hasn’t even scored a total of 200 runs, so the pressure will be on him. He’s getting opportunities, he’s getting the backing, but he needs to convert those chances into performances, which hasn’t happened yet," he added.
Chasing 187, India were 87/3 after 8.3 overs, with Axar Patel and Tilak Varma at the crease. The Men in Blue are 0-1 behind in the five-match series.
