Team India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy was dismissed for a three-ball duck in the final innings on Day 5 of the second Test against South Africa at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The youngster attempted to play a reverse sweep against off-spinner Simon Harmer, but was caught by wicket-keeper Kyle Verreynne after contact with gloves.

Nitish Kumar Reddy walked out to bat in the second session after Washington Sundar edged one off Harmer's bowling to Aiden Markram in slip during the 61st over. In the off-spinner's very next over, he struck off the first ball as the all-rounder tried to take initiative and mix things up by unleashing the unorthodox reverse sweep.

Pitched, and tossed up on the rough outside the off stump, Reddy tried to dispatch it behind square on the off side, but the ball ended up bouncing a bit higher and hitting the glove. The ball lobbed upwards, resulting in the easiest of catches for the wicket-keeper. Have a look at the dismissal right here:

This marked Simon Harmer's sixth wicket in the fourth innings as the spinner ran through the side once again in the final innings of a Test in the series.

Nitish Kumar Reddy, on the other hand, had a forgettable outing after coming into the playing XI for Axar Patel in the second Test. He scored 10 and 0 with the bat in the first and second innings, respectively, and bagged no wickets after bowling 10 overs.

Keshav Maharaj bags the remaining two wickets after Nitish Kumar Reddy's dismissal to secure a 408-run win in IND vs SA 2025 2nd Test

Left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj dismissed Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj in the same over to seal a record win, and confirm the 2-0 series whitewash as well. All-rounder Marco Jansen clutched onto a stunner in the deep to end the series as India were bowled out for 140 runs in the second innings.

This marks South Africa's first series win in India since 2000, after the Hansie Cronje-led side had also recorded a similar 2-0 triumph on that occasion.
