While India won the game by 17 runs after posting 349 runs in their 50 overs, a clip of Rohit from the clash, where he animatedly celebrated Kohli’s hundred from the dressing room, went viral, with Arshdeep and Yashasvi Jaiswal beside him.

On Monday, December 1, the left-arm seamer posted a video on Instagram, saying he had been receiving numerous messages asking what Rohit had said when Kohli reached his 52nd century. In the clip, he then jokingly broke into the lyrics of the song Neeli Pari Peeli Pari. He said in the video:

“I've never been a big believer of a lot of preparation” - Virat Kohli reflects on his match-winning century in Ranchi

As Virat Kohli brought up his 52nd ODI hundred in the first match against the Proteas, he was named Player of the Game. During the post-match presentation, while receiving the award, he said (as quoted by Cricbuzz):

“I've never been a big believer of a lot of preparation, if that makes sense. All my cricket has been mental. As long as I feel mentally I can play the game, I work physically very hard every day of my life. It's got nothing to do with cricket anymore. It's the way I live. So, as long as my fitness levels are up and my mental enjoyment and sharpness is there, when you can visualize the game and you see yourself running as hard, reacting fast on the ball, then you know it's fine. I mean, one of the days when the game opens up and you get a start, you'll be able to score some runs.”

The two teams will return to action for the second game on Wednesday, December 3, in Raipur.
