Former Indian captain Kris Srikkanth backed the Men in Blue to win the upcoming T20I series against South Africa comfortably, thanks to the disparity in the bowling attacks. The 1983 World Cup winner predicted a 4-1 scoreline in favor of India in the five-match series, starting in Cuttack on December 9.The Men in Blue have been in red-hot T20I form, winning 13 out of their 15 matches this year. Dating further back, India has won 26 out of their last 30 T20Is, following their unbeaten 2024 T20 World Cup campaign.Talking about India's chances in the South African T20I series, Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel (22:58):"Lest we forget, Bumrah and Hardik shut South Africa in the T20 World Cup final when Klaasen was going berserk. They were cruising, and these two finished them off in four balls. Axar Patel is also back, so the Indian T20I side is on a different level. India will win 4-1."He added:"The Indian team is too powerful and strong for South Africa. Their bowling is too weak without Rabada. India got 270 losing just one wicket against this bowling today. There is no comparison between the South African and Indian bowling, especially with Bumrah back. They chased 350+ in a one-off match but can they do it once Bumrah and Hardik Pandya are back? Impossible."Despite finishing runners-up in the 2024 T20 World Cup, South Africa have been in poor T20I form, losing six out of their nine matches."Shreyas Iyer should be part of this whole system" - Kris SrikkanthKris Srikkanth believes Shreyas Iyer should be part of the Indian T20I squad before the home World Cup next year. The 31-year-old has not played a T20I for India in two years, with his last appearance coming in December 2023."This is a fantastic team. But I still believe Shreyas Iyer should be part of this whole system. Don't forget, he played brilliantly in the IPL and the Champions Trophy. So, Shreyas Iyer should be in the scheme of things. You'll have to give it to that boy, with the scores he has put together in white-ball cricket," said Srikkanth (via the aforementioned source). He concluded:"Shreyas Iyer should be given a look-in before the T20 World Cup. He's a demolishing batter who can demolish attacks in the middle order. I feel bad for him, but the Indian team is too strong."Iyer enjoyed an excellent IPL 2025 season, scoring 604 runs at an average of over 50 and a strike rate of 175.07 in 17 outings. In his first season with the Punjab Kings (PBKS), he captained the franchise to a runners-up finish.
