India captain KL Rahul led by example to help the hosts make the most of their last over against South Africa in the second ODI in Raipur on Wednesday, December 3. The wicketkeeper-batter slammed a four and followed that up with a maximum as India made 18 runs off Corbin Bosch's bowling.
Rahul began the over with a leg bye before Ravindra Jadeja smashed a four over mid-off. The latter then took a single before Rahul slammed a four and six towards mid-off and deep square leg, respectively. The skipper then ran two off the last ball as the Proteas registered their costliest over of the innings.

KL Rahul smashed his consecutive half-century, scoring an unbeaten 66 off 43 balls with the help of two sixes and six fours. On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja scored 24* off 27 deliveries.
Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad slam centuries as India set a 359-run target for South Africa in a must-win match; KL Rahul provides finishing touches
Centuries from Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad helped India post 358/5 in their allotted 50 overs against South Africa. Gaikwad top-scored for the Men in Blue with 105 off 83 balls, hitting two sixes and 12 fours.
Meanwhile, Kohli slammed 102 off 93 deliveries, comprising two sixes and seven boundaries. This was his second consecutive ODI ton, having slammed 135 off 120 balls in the opening game. The two batters took all the Proteas bowlers to the cleaners, sharing a 195-run stand for the third wicket.
Earlier in the day, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma perished for 22 (38) and 14 (8), respectively. Meanwhile, Washington Sundar got run out for 1 (8).
Marco Jansen emerged as the leading wicket-taker for South Africa, finishing with figures of 2/63, while Nandre Burger and Lungi Ngidi bagged one wicket apiece.
The KL Rahul-led side won the first ODI by 17 runs. They will now look to take a 2-0 unassailable lead in the three-match series.
The Temba Bavuma-led side must win the match to stay alive in the series and set a decider in Visakhapatnam, which will host the third and final ODI on December 6.
