KL Rahul gets bowled for 6 by a beauty from Simon Harmer in IND vs SA 2025 2nd Test [Watch]

South Africa off-spinner Simon Harmer struck in his first over of India's chase in the second Test in Guwahati. Harmer needed only two deliveries to make a breakthrough as he bowled KL Rahul with a beauty, sending the opener packing for 6.

The dismissal occurred in the 10th over of the innings as South Africa captain Temba Bavuma brought in spin for the first time. Although Rahul successfully defended the first ball, he played down the wrong line trying to flick it through the leg side. Harmer generated considerable dip and spin to beat the inside edge and hit the top of off-stump.

Rahul also endured a disappointing outing in the first innings, dismissed by Keshav Maharaj for 22 off 63 deliveries. The elegant right-hander had managed scores of 39 and 1 in the opening Test at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Before Harmer dismissed Rahul, South Africa's opening bowler Marco Jansen got the better of Yashasvi Jaiswal for 13 in the seventh over. The hosts eventually finished Day 4 at 27/2 in 15.5 overs, needing another 522 runs to win. Kuldeep Yadav, who was sent in as the night watchman after Rahul's dismissal, managed to hang on and will resume on Day 5 with Sai Sudharsan.

South Africa began Day 4 with a lead of 314 and swelled it to 548, thanks to Tristan Stubbs' 94. Wiaan Mulder (35*) and Ryan Rickelton (35) had also chipped in with solid contributions. They eventually declared at 260/5. Having teetered to 201 in their first innings, the hosts will need to bat out of their skin to draw the Test.

The visitors are already leading the series 1-0.
