"It's like badam halwa for Virat Kohli" - Former captain's hilarious take on star batter's stunning six in IND vs SA 2025 3rd ODI

Former Indian opener Kris Srikkanth hailed Virat Kohli for his utter disdain in smashing South African pacer Corbin Bosch for a no-look six in the third ODI in Vizag. With India coasting along in their run-chase of 271, the veteran batter thrilled the fans with a stunning six over long-on off the final ball of the 35th over.

Kohli did not stop there as it was only the first of three sixes in his brutal knock of 65* from 45 deliveries. The champion batter made it three consecutive 50+ scores for the series, including centuries in each of the first two ODIs.

Talking about the effortless ease with which Kohli is batting, Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel (8:06):

"That six off Bosch, whenever Bosch bowls it's like badam halwa for Virat Kohli. He didn't even look at the ball and it goes for a six. Likewise, Rohit Sharma when facing a short ball from Baartman, smashes him like a boatman. It looked like the ball would go to the boatman on the beaches of Vizag."

He continued:

"Kohli said in the post-match presentation that he was a bit confused the last two years. It shows even a great player and the best of players like him to go through mental trauma. If you see this entire series, he's enjoying his game. He has gone back to the old Virat Kohli of the past, where he's very passionate and aggressive but at the same time, very determined. He's playing at a different level. Actually, he's playing like a man possessed."

Kohli finished the series with 302 runs at an average of 151 and a strike rate of over 117 to be adjudged the Player of the Series.

Kris Srikkanth believes Virat Kohli is currently batting as well as he has ever done in his career. The 37-year-old extended his ODI century record to a remarkable 53 in the South African series.

Meanwhile, Srikkanth also praised Rohit Sharma for his sensible knock in the series finale.

"I've never seen Virat Kohli batting this well. He's smashing sixes and fours at will. Yet, all with straight-batted shots. Likewise, Rohit also played smartly, while toying with the field. He played attacking cricket while playing intelligent cricket," said Srikkanth (via the aforementioned source).

The former skipper scored a brisk 73-ball 75 and stitched a crucial 155-run opening partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal in India's eventual nine-wicket victory. Rohit has scored at least a half-century in four out of his last five ODI innings.
