Jasprit Bumrah missed out as India captain Suryakumar Yadav announced the playing XI for the third T20I against South Africa at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on Sunday, December 14. Harshit Rana has replaced him in the playing XI.At the toss, Yadav said that Bumrah was unavailable due to personal reasons. He added that Kuldeep Yadav has replaced Axar Patel as the second change. The Indian skipper said at the toss (via Cricbuzz):“We’ve made two forced changes. Axar Patel misses out as he’s unwell, and Jasprit Bumrah misses out due to personal reasons back home. Harshit Rana comes in, and Kuldeep Yadav comes in.”Later, the BCCI gave an official update regarding Bumrah and Axar. They wrote on X:"Axar Patel is unavailable for the third T20I due to illness.""Jasprit Bumrah has gone back home for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the game. An update on him joining the squad for the remaining matches will be provided in due course," the post added.Jasprit Bumrah’s loss comes as a huge loss for the Men in Blue following their 51-run loss in the series opener. The speedster recently became the second Indian after Arshdeep Singh to complete 100 wickets in T20Is. Meanwhile, Harshit Rana has bagged five wickets in as many T20Is but at an economy rate of 10.69.
