Australian batter Tim David continued his incredible short-format form in the third T20I against India in Hobart on Sunday, November 2. The 29-year-old walked into bat with the hosts in trouble at 14/2 in the third over.
However, he remained unfazed by the situation, smashing 74 off only 38 deliveries with eight boundaries and five monstrous maximums. David has been in phenomenal form in T20Is this year, averaging over 54 at a strike rate of almost 200 in 12 outings.
The big-hitting right-hander also played a massive role in helping the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) win their maiden IPL title earlier this year. David averaged over 62 at a strike rate of 185.14 in 12 matches in IPL 2025.
The franchise acquired the Australian star in what appears to be an absolute steal now at ₹3 crores at the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Fans on X reacted to David's swashbuckling knock with several interesting RCB connections as follows:
Fans continued reacting to David's breathtaking knock, with one saying:
"Tim David in RCB is probably going to be what Pollard was for MI — an insane power hitter! The way he smashes 129m sixes looks like a cakewalk."
"Tim Beast David plays for RCB. It’s a flex, honour and arrogance!" a fan posted.
"Thank You Akash Ambani for gifting us Tim David at just 3cr," a fan said.
Tim David powers Australia to a formidable total in the 3rd T20I against India
Tim David's heroics helped Australia recover from early trouble and post a healthy total of 186/6 in 20 overs in the third T20I against India. The Singapore-born batter added a valuable 59 runs with skipper Mitchell Marsh for the third wicket, followed by 45 for the fourth wicket with Marcus Stoinis.
It was David's ninth T20I half-century and a third this year, to go along with his century against the West Indies in July. Australia also received a valuable contribution of 64 from 39 balls from Stoinis, helping them past the 180-run mark.
The hosts won the second T20I in Melbourne by four wickets and came into this contest with a 1-0 series lead, following the no-result in the series opener at Canberra.
A win in the ongoing clash will help Australia take an unassailable 2-0 lead with two games remaining.
