Team India batter Harleen Deol shared a hilarious moment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi when she asked him about his skincare routine. The light-hearted exchange took place on Wednesday, November 5, as the Prime Minister hosted the women’s cricket team in Delhi following their triumph in the 2025 World Cup.
Under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, India defeated South Africa in the final on November 2 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai to clinch the championship.
During the interaction with the Prime Minister, Harleen Deol came up with a funny question, asking (via PM Modi’s YouTube channel):
“Sir, I want to ask you about your skincare routine. You glow a lot, sir.”
PM Modi and the team shared a hearty laugh at the moment, as he responded:
“I did not pay much attention to this topic. There is a very, very great power (in people’s love towards him) in society because now I have also been in the government for 25 years. Being the Head of the Government is a long time. Even after that, when so many blessings are received, it certainly has an impact.”

Meanwhile, during the tournament, Harleen Deol played seven matches, scoring 169 runs in five innings at an average of 33.80 and a strike rate of 75.11, with a top score of 48.
“There was a protocol for only 20 people” - India women’s team head coach Amol Muzumdar shares a fascinating tale with PM Narendra Modi
In the same interaction, India women’s team head coach Amol Muzumdar shared a fascinating story from the team’s England tour earlier this year. He recalled that when the team met King Charles III in July, a strict protocol allowed only 20 members, which meant the support staff couldn’t join.
However, he revealed that during that time, the support staff had manifested a wish that they would meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi after winning the World Cup, and that came true. He shared:
“It has been two years since I became their head coach. My hair has turned white. Sir, I want to tell a story. One incident happened when we were in England in June. There, we met King Charles. But there was a protocol for only 20 people. So the support staff could not come. All the players were there, and we took three skilled coaches."
"So I told my support staff that I am extremely sorry, but the protocol is for only 20 people. Then, as they manifested a little, they said that it was okay, they didn’t need that photograph. They wanted a photograph with Modi Ji on 4th or 5th November. Today is that day," he added.
Meanwhile, the BCCI had announced a cash prize of ₹51 crore for India’s victorious ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 contingent.
