Former Indian captain Kris Srikkanth believes Shivam Dube has the uncanny knack of picking up wickets despite not looking like a threat after the fourth T20I against Australia in Carrara on November 6. Yet, the World Cup winner praised Dube's intelligence in removing the dangerous Tim David at a crucial point in the match. The right-arm pacer picked up two wickets to help India pull off a crushing 48-run win. After dismissing the Aussie skipper Mitchell Marsh, Dube bounced David out with a surprise delivery.Talking about Shivam Dube's bowling heroics on his YouTube channel, Srikkanth said (10:32):"He bowled intelligently to get the wicket of Tim David. It was a slow bouncer into the body. Last match, David smashed sixes off the front foot from outside the off-stump. So once it was slow into the body, he miscued the big hit. He has the wicket-taking luck. He bowls something but ends up picking up wickets."He added:"And two big wickets today of Marsh and David. The former was just a rank long hop that Marsh hit straight into the hands of square leg. But he bowled intelligently to David. After getting hit for a six, he bowled the perfect bouncer. Tim David if you bowl short and into the body, he'll struggle. He's waiting to just smash it on the front foot."Dube finished with excellent figures of 2/20 in two overs and made it back-to-back games of dismissing the in-form David."He came just to hit sixes off Zampa" - Kris Srikkanth on Shivam Dube's promotion to No. 3Kris Srikkanth believes the move to send Shivam Dube at No. 3 in the fourth Australian T20I was only to smash leg-spinner Adam Zampa for maximums. After not batting in the top seven in the previous two outings, the tall left-hander walked into bat at the fall of the opening wicket.Despite smashing a towering six off Zampa, Dube struggled with the bat, scoring only an 18-ball 22."He came just to hit sixes off Zampa. His role is when a Zampa or a left-arm spinner comes, go for sixes. But we have to wait and watch where so much shuffling of the batting order will lead to," said Srikkanth (via the aforementioned source).Srikkanth spoke about India's overall batting in their win over Australia, saying:"No one played with a great strike rate. Finally, Shubman Gill scored some runs. He played decently and scored a 40 after a long time. But his strike rate was nothing big. Maybe the wicket conditions were not very good."India scratched around for momentum for most of their innings, finishing with only 167 in their 20 overs. However, the bowlers produced an excellent all-round performance to help the side take a 2-1 lead with one game remaining.
