Former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan slammed speedster Prasidh Krishna for his dismal bowling performance in the second ODI against South Africa in Raipur. Despite posting a massive 358 with the bat, the hosts failed to defend the score, thanks to an abject bowling display.Prasidh was inarguably the worst of the Indian bowlers on the day, conceding 85 in his 8.2 overs despite picking up two wickets. The 29-year-old was similarly expensive in the series opener despite India escaping with a 17-run victory, conceding 48 from his 7.2 overs.Talking about Prasidh Krishna's shoddy bowling performance, Zaheer said on Cricbuzz (4:20):"You don't have to point out any individual. But Prasidh has been that weak link in the last couple of games. He is not able to figure out exactly how to play that role. That was evident in today's game as well. His economy was also on the higher side. The captain is then always thinking about how to use your resources and whether he has enough confidence in using Prasidh."The former pacer believes Prasidh's off-day also hampered KL Rahul's plans as captain."Otherwise he (Rahul) had that moment where after 35 overs, he could have gone to Arshdeep and Kuldeep and bowled them in tandem. That stage, create more pressure and create a wicket-taking opportunity. He was not able to do that because constantly in the back of his mind, Prasidh's overs he wanted to get some out right now before it gets too late," Zaheer added. The brilliant run-chase in the final over helped the Proteas level the three-match series at one apiece."You've to be able to hit the deck hard and hit the lengths right" - Zaheer Khan on Prasidh Krishna's roleZaheer Khan advised Prasidh Krishna to adapt to his role as the first-change pacer, where finding the ideal lengths with the older ball becomes paramount. The right-arm seamer played only his 20th ODI for India in the Raipur outing against South Africa."His role is a seamer who is going to be ranked 3 in the bowling lineup. So he's going to be doing the tough job which is first change when the ball is older. You've to be able to hit the deck hard and hit the lengths right," said Zaheer (via the aforementioned source).Prasidh has picked up an impressive 33 wickets in his 20 ODIs but has a poor economy rate of 5.98.
