It refers to 'using language, actions, or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match'. In Harshit's case, the incident happened in the 22nd over of a tense South African run-chase when he dismissed young batter Dewald Brevis.

The speedster made a gesture pointing to the dressing room towards Brevis, having had him caught on the boundary for 37. Harshit receives one demerit point to his disciplinary record as a result of the act.

It is the 23-year-old's first offence in the last two years, and the young pacer accepted the penalty proposed by Richie Richardson of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees.

Despite his heated moment with Dewald Brevis after the latter's dismissal, Harshit Rana enjoyed a memorable outing in the first South African ODI. After the hosts posted a massive 349/8 in 50 overs, the right-arm pacer struck in his first over to set the ball rolling for India.

Harshit removed the dangerous duo of Ryan Rickelton and Quinton de Kock off his first three deliveries, leaving the Proteas reeling at 7/2 in the second over. He then removed Brevis when the batter was going berserk on 37 off 27 deliveries to derail South Africa's spirited run-chase.

Harshit Rana finished with figures of 3/65 off his 10 overs, helping India win by 17 runs and capture a 1-0 series lead. The speedster will be in action when India look to take an unassailable 2-0 series lead in the second ODI in Raipur today (December 3).
