India pacer Harshit Rana was ecstatic after striking in his very first over, dismissing South Africa opener Quinton de Kock in the third T20I of the five-match series. The encounter is being played on Sunday, December 14, at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.
The dismissal came on the second delivery of the second over of the Proteas’ innings. Harshit bowled a length ball from around the wicket that nipped in sharply, beating de Kock and trapping him on the pads. On-field umpire Virender Sharma raised his finger, and although the left-hander had a brief chat with skipper Aiden Markram, he decided against going for the review.

Harshit Rana strikes twice in his two overs to put South Africa on the back foot in 3rd T20I
Asked to bat first, South Africa endured a disappointing start as India’s Arshdeep Singh dismissed Reeza Hendricks for a three-ball duck in the opening over. Harshit Rana maintained the pressure in the second over, removing Quinton de Kock for just one.
Rana struck again soon after, sending back the explosive Dewald Brevis for two off seven balls, leaving the Proteas in trouble at 7/3 after 3.1 overs. At the time of writing, South Africa were 11/3 after four overs, with Aiden Markram (5) and Tristan Stubbs (3) at the crease.
Meanwhile, this is a crucial game for both sides. India started the series on a strong note, registering a stunning 101-run victory in the first match on December 9 in Cuttack. South Africa bounced back brilliantly in the second game on December 11 in New Chandigarh, winning by 51 runs to level the five-match series 1-1 after two games.
