Harmanpreet Kaur sleeps in bed with World Cup 2025 trophy and a classic t-shirt [In Picture]

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur posted an iconic picture after leading the Women in Blue to their maiden ICC World Cup trophy in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, November 2. Notably, India beat South Africa by 52 runs in the final.

On Monday (November 3), Harmanpreet took to Instagram to share a picture of herself sleeping with the coveted trophy. In the photo, she was seen wearing a T-shirt, which read - ‘Cricket is everyone’s game.’ The 36-year-old captioned the social post:

“Some dreams are shared by a billion people. That’s why cricket is everyone’s game.”

The trend is not new. Several sporting legends, including former India captain Rohit Sharma and football legend Lionel Messi, have posted similar pictures after winning World Cup trophies. Earlier in the day, Jemimah Rodrigues and India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana also posted with the trophy on their bed.

Harmanpreet Kaur has urged the Women in Blue to continue their exploits in the game following their maiden World Cup trophy. She said in the post-match show (via Cricbuzz):

“This is the start. We wanted to break this barrier. And now, our next plan is to make this a habit. Because, you know, we are waiting for this moment. Now, this moment has come. Now, let's just make this happen, you know. Now, next year there's also the World Cup, and then the Champions Trophy is there. So, so many big occasions are coming. We just want to keep improving day by day. This is not the end. This is just a beginning. And we just want to keep giving our best.”

Kaur further commended her side for their turnaround after losing three games on a trot against South Africa, Australia, and England during the group stage. She continued:

“That self-belief was there that, you know, even though we lost three back-to-back games, but we knew this team had something special to turn things around. So I think credit goes to each and every member. They stayed positive. They knew what we have to do in the next three games. And I think everybody was so involved. They were there for day and night. I think this team deserves to be there.”
