The much-awaited final player list for the IPL 2026 auction was released on Tuesday, December 9. A total of 350 players have been shortlisted to go under the hammer at the mini-auction in Abu Dhabi on December 16.
As many as 1,390 players had registered for the auction, but the long list was eventually pruned down to 350. The final IPL 2026 auction list includes 240 Indian players and 110 overseas cricketers. There are 224 uncapped Indian players and 14 uncapped overseas players in the list. Also, 16 capped Indian cricketers and 96 capped overseas players have registered for the auction.
While 350 players are eligible to go under the hammer, the franchises can fill up a maximum of 77 slots at the auction, with 31 of the spots being reserved for overseas players. Three-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) head into the auction with the biggest purse of ₹64.3 crore. They can fill up a maximum of 13 slots, with six spots being for overseas players.
Which New Zealand players have registered for the IPL 2026 auction?
Sixteen players from New Zealand have been shortlisted for the IPL mini-auction. Among them, Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Matt Henry, Daryl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell are the prominent names who have registered for the auction in the highest base price category of ₹2 crore.
Both Conway and Ravindra represented Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2025 before being released. Conway scored 156 runs in six innings at an average of 26 and a strike rate of 131.09. In eight innings, Ravindra scored 191 runs, averaging 27.28 at a strike rate of 128.18.
Mitchell went unsold at the IPL 2025 auction. He too had represented CSK in the 2024 season, scoring 318 runs in 13 innings at an average of 28.90 and a strike rate of 142.60. As for Bracewell, he represented Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL 2023 season and claimed six wickets in five matches.
