The final player list for the IPL 2026 auction was confirmed on Tuesday, December 9. The mini-auction is set to take place in Abu Dhabi on December 16 and will see 350 players go under the hammer.
A report in iplt20.com confirmed that as many as 1,390 players had signed up for the IPL 2026 auction out of which 350 were shortlisted. The final auction list includes 240 Indian cricketers and 110 overseas players. There are 224 uncapped Indian players and 14 uncapped overseas players in the pool. Also, 16 capped Indian players and 96 capped overseas cricketers will be part of the auction.
A maximum of 77 slots can be filled up at the IPL 2026 auction, with 31 of them being for overseas players. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) head into the auction with the largest purse of ₹64.3 crore. They can fill up a maximum of 13 slots, which includes six spots for overseas players.

England cricketers have always been a big draw at IPL auctions over the years. This year as well many English cricketers have been shortlisted for the mini-auction. A number of players have registered for the auction at the highest base price of ₹2 crore. This list includes star batting all-rounder Liam Livingstone, who was released by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
Gus Atkinson, Tom Banton, Tom Curran, Ben Duckett, Jamie Smith and Liam Dawson are some of the other names who have listed a reserve price of ₹2 crore. Meawhile, veteran keeper-batter Jonny Bairstow and pacer Josh Tongue have put his names up for auction in the ₹1 crore category. Pacers Saqib Mahmood and Olly Stone have registered a base price of ₹1.5 crore and ₹1.25 crore respectively.

Jos Buttler was retained by Gujarat Titans (GT), Jofra Archer was retained by Rajasthan Royals (RR), while Phil Salt and Jacob Bethell were retained by RCB. Also, Will Jacks was retained by Mumbai Indians (MI), while all-rounder Sam Curran was traded from Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to RR.
