An elderly fan expressed her emotions in heartwarming fashion, kissing the television screen after Virat Kohli reached his hundred in the second ODI against South Africa on Wednesday at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium in Raipur. In a video that surfaced on social media, the fan was seen praying and kissed the television screen as soon as he reached the milestone. The right-handed batter had arrived into the second ODI against South Africa on the back of 135 off 120 deliveries as the Men in Blue edged the tourists by 17 runs to claim a 1-0 lead. He followed it up with another masterful innings in Raipur on Wednesday, making 102 off 93 deliveries, laced with seven fours and two sixes. The Delhi-born cricketer also stitched a brisk 195-run stand with Ruturaj Gaikwad to drive India's total to 358/5 in 50 overs. Here's the video of the adorable reaction from the elderly fan:It proved to be Kohli's 53rd ODI ton and his 84th international century. The veteran is only 16 centuries away from completing 100 international hundreds."The hundred always seemed inevitable" - Sunil Gavaskar on Virat Kohli's inningsSunil Gavaskar was appreciative of Kohli guiding Ruturaj Gaikwad. (Image Credits: Getty)Former Indian opener Sunil Gavaskar stated that he always believed Kohli was going to get a hundred and credited the veteran for Ruturaj Gaikwad's knock of 105. He said on JioStar, as quoted by IANS Live:"To be honest, at no point did it look like he wasn't going to get a hundred. From the first ball he faced, it felt as if he was carrying on from Ranchi. He got off the mark with a hook for six, a shot he doesn't often play in the air, which showed the confidence from his previous hundred. After that, unless something unfortunate happened, the hundred always seemed inevitable. Ruturaj would've been nervous after getting out to a brilliant catch earlier, and whatever Kohli told him clearly lifted him; the next ball he played very confidently off the front foot."Nevertheless, the tons from Gaikwad and Kohli went in vain as Aiden Markram crafted a knock of 110 to help the Proteas to a series-levelling victory. The 3rd ODI will be played on Saturday, December 6, in Visakhapatnam.
