Team India seamer Arshdeep Singh picked the player with the funniest bowling action ahead of the ODI series against South Africa, beginning on Sunday, November 30, in Ranchi. The left-arm seamer picked Jasprit Bumrah as the bowler with the funniest action while engaging in a rapid-fire round before the series-opener.Although Bumrah has one of the most peculiar bowling actions in cricketing history, he has established himself as one of the most prolific wicket-takers ever, across formats. Having made his international debut in 2016, the Ahmedabad-born cricketer has claimed 482 scalps in 221 international games. He has been instrumental in India's rise as a Test team and was central to their T20 World Cup victory in 2024.In a rapid-fire round with Star Sports, Arshdeep answered when asked about the funniest bowling action:"Funniest bowling action toh ek hi hai. Legend, Jasprit Bumrah.(Funniest bowling action, there's only one. Legend, Jasprit Bumrah.)"Arshdeep is likely to take the new-ball duties for India in the opening ODI against South Africa, with Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj rested from the series.Jasprit Bumrah likely to return for India's T20I series against South AfricaJasprit Bumrah. (Image Credits: Getty)Although Bumrah has been rested from the ODI leg, he is likely to return for the subsequent T20I series against South Africa as the Men in Blue finetune their plans for the World Cup next year. India are the defending champions, having defeated the Proteas by eight runs in the 2024 final in Barbados to lift the T20 World Cup trophy. The Men in Blue haven't lost a T20 series since Suryakumar Yadav succeeded Rohit Sharma as the skipper.Nevertheless, the home side will first look to gain some momentum following the humiliating Test series defeat to South Africa. They will take confidence from the fact that they have won the previous two ODI series against South Africa, one each at home and away. But the Asian Giants will be missing the services of Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer and Hardik Pandya, on top of Siraj and Bumrah.
