India legend Ravichandran Ashwin made a massive claim on star all-rounder Cameron Green ahead of the IPL 2026 auction. The auction is set to take place on Tuesday, December 16, in Abu Dhabi.

There has been a lot of hype around Cameron Green going into the auction. With Andre Russell having retired from the IPL and teams looking for a solid overseas pace-bowling all-rounder, Green is expected to be the costliest player at the upcoming auction.

However, Ashwin reckoned that even though Green would be the most expensive buy, he would not hit the ₹30 crore mark realistically.

"KKR will get Green if they want to, which I think they will. But I don't think him going for ₹30 crore is a possibility. I don't think so. If he goes for 30 crores, then Chennai will be treading on very dangerous waters," he said on 'Ash ki Baat'.

Ashwin also named three domestic Indian uncapped players who he felt could get good bids at the IPL 2026 auction. These included Rajasthan's wicketkeeper-batter Kartik Sharma, Punjab's Salil Arora, and Tushar Raheja, who plays for Tamil Nadu.

"I think Karthik Sharma and Salil Arora will be very expensive. Whichever team misses one will run after the other between these two. There will be good value for uncapped players in this auction. One more player who will have value is Tushar Raheja."

Several Indian uncapped players have registered for the auction. With players having done well in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2025-26 right before the auction, franchises will have their eyes set on acquiring local talent.

Ravichandran Ashwin names West Indies all-rounder who he thinks could get good value at the IPL 2026 auction

Ravichandran Ashwin also named experienced West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder among the players he felt could get good value at the IPL 2026 auction. Holder is currently playing for the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders (ADKR) in the International League T20 (ILT20) 2025-26.

He has bagged five wickets from three games at an average of 12.60 and an economy of 6.30.

"Jason Holder will have value in this auction. If he will not, then I will be very surprised. He played with me at RR but did not do well and was not picked again. But he is playing for ADKR now in the ILT20 and is doing a fine job. His strength is not bowling at the death. He can give you one over maybe but not two. For ADKR, his performance with the new ball has been fabulous. He has had a great run getting into the ILT20. Holder, apart from what we are thinking, could get a very good value," Ashwin said.

Holder last played in the IPL in 2023 for the Rajasthan Royals (RR). He brings immense experience, having featured in 325 T20s, scoring 3133 runs and picking up 344 wickets.
