Former South African pacer Dale Steyn has named his countryman to be the costliest buy ever in the IPL auction history. In a rapid-fire round with Star Sports, the former right-arm speedster answered many interesting questions relating to the IPL auction. He claimed Lance Klusener could have been the most expensive buy if he played in the IPL.Klusener, who played 53 T20s in his career but never featured in T20I cricket, established himself as one of the most fearsome all-rounders of the generation. In 220 games across Tests and ODIs for South Africa, the 54-year-old accumulated 5482 runs and picked up 282 wickets. His performance was particularly outstanding during the 1999 World Cup as he won the Player of the Tournament award for scoring 281 runs and taking 17 scalps.In a video shared by Star Sports, Steyn, who is currently on commentary duty for the T20I series between India and South Africa, said Klusener had the potential to be the costliest pick in IPL auction history. The 42-year-old said in response to the question:"Lance Klusener, maybe."After calling time from his playing career, Klusener has taken up coaching and served several teams. I love Ravi."Shastri, who coached the Indian men's national team between 2017 and 2021, had a memorable stint with them. Under the 63-year-old, Team India registered two Test series victories in Australia. Shastri is also one of the most charismatic commentators going around.
