"Appreciation should be as loud as criticism" - Fans hail Prasidh Krishna's game-changing spell in IND vs SA 2025 3rd ODI 

Team India right-arm pacer Prasidh Krishna redeemed himself in the third ODI against South Africa with a defining spell in the middle overs at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Vizag on Saturday, December 6. The bowler, who has not had a series to remember so far, stepped up after conceding 27 runs off the first two overs of his spell.

After being taken off the attack in the 11th over, as his first two overs included three sixes, skipper KL Rahul brought him back in the 27th over. Prasidh Krishna repaid the faith by trapping the in-form Matthew Breetzke LBW in his very next over.

The pacer made it a double strike after getting the better of Aiden Markram, just three balls later, to reduce South Africa to 170-4. His Midas touch continued after he castled the centurion, Quinton de Kock, in the 33rd over. The string of wickets broke the Proteas' momentum completely from a commanding position at one stage.

His current figures read 3-52 off seven overs, and he is the most expensive pacer on show in the first innings.

Prasidh Krishna has this skill and habit of getting wickets in middle overs but often gives too many runs. Even in his debut ODI series against England he won us 2 games by picking wickets in middle overs.

They forget he played a major role in the Oval victory, where he dismissed Root and Bethell when England needed just 42 runs. They forget he took 8 wickets in that match. They forget he is the Purple Cap winner of IPL 2025.​So have some patience. Give players a fair chance. Don’t judge a player based on just one game.

The Proteas looked out of sorts after losing wickets in the middle overs, which included the set batter and anchor Quinton de Kock. While they tried to go hard and maintain momentum, the lack of wickets in hand was beginning to be a problem.

The visitors have already lost more than half of the side with the third powerplay yet to begin. At the time of writing, the aggressive approach has backfired massively as Kuldeep Yadav dismissed both Dewald Brevis and Corbin Bosch in the space of three deliveries to reduce them to 235-7.
