Star Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz made a massive revelation about Virat Kohli amid India's ongoing ODI series against South Africa. The Proteas are in India for a multi-format tour.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz revealed that he calls and talks to Virat Kohli when he is in trouble. The Afghanistan star opened up on the advice he received from Kohli, what he has learnt, and how the former Indian skipper has always been open to talking to him

"I call Virat bhai sometimes when I am in trouble and I need help and we talk. We most of the time discuss. Just recently, when I was in a situation where I was not able to score, I called him, and in the very next game, I scored 90 or something. He is very simple. The way he plays, he makes it simple and does not make things complicated. He tries to work hard and enjoy. We all need to be like this. When you can't enjoy the game, then you can't perform. He always helps me. From the last three years, we know each other. Anytime I call him, he's always open to talk. That's something you expect from your legend. I learn from him. He is such a nice and down-to-earth human being," he said. (via Sports Tak)

During Afghanistan's recent T20I series against Zimbabwe, Gurbaz played a match-winning knock in the third and final match. The opener scored 92 runs off 48 balls, including eight boundaries and five maximums at a strike-rate of 191.66. He was also awarded 'Player of the Match'.

Gurbaz will feature in the upcoming IPL 2026 auction after being released by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) post the 2025 season.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli slammed a scintillating century against South Africa in the first ODI on Sunday, November 30, in Ranchi. He scored 135 runs off just 120 balls, hitting 11 fours and seven maximums at a strike-rate of 112.5.

India posted a total of 349/8 batting first and won the game by 17 runs. Kohli was awarded 'Player of the Match' for his match-winning ton. It was his 52nd ODI hundred. With this, he broke the legendary Sachin Tendulkar's record for the most centuries (51) in a single format.

With six hundreds against South Africa, he also surpassed Tendulkar and David Warner (five each) for the batter with the most ODI tons against the Proteas.
