The deadline for all 10 franchises to confirm their retentions ahead of the IPL 2026 auction is November 15 [5 PM]. There has been plenty of buzz over the last few days over players who should be retained and released.Since the upcoming auction will be a mini-auction, teams can retain as many players as they want, provided the squad size does not exceed 25. As per reports, the total purse for each franchise will be around ₹120 crore.While there is no official confirmation about the date of the IPL 2026 auction, some reports are claiming that the event could be held in Abu Dhabi on December 16. Meanwhile, ahead of retention day, we take a look at the list of players who have been traded so far.Sanju Samson, Ravindra Jadeja and Sam CurranStar keeper-batter Sanju Samson has been traded to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) from Rajasthan Royals (RR) in exchange for all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran. As part of the trade deal, Jadeja's fee has been revised from ₹18 crore to ₹14 crore. Samson and Curran have been traded for their existing fee of ₹18 crore and ₹2.4 crore respectively.Samson's IPL 2025 campaign for RR was severely restricted due to injury. He even had to sacrifice his opening slot with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi forming a deadly combination at the top. In nine innings in IPL 2025, Samson scored 285 runs at an average of 35.62 and a strike rate of 140.39, with just one 50-plus score to his name.As for Jadeja, the 36-year-old played 14 matches for CSK in IPL 2025, claiming 10 wickets with his left-arm spin at an average of 32.40 and economy rate of 8.56. With the bat, he contributed 301 runs, averaging 33.44 at a strike rate of 135.58, with two fifties. Curran played only five matches for CSK in the 2025 season, scoring 114 runs at a strike rate of 135.71 and claiming just one wicket.Shardul ThakurIndian all-rounder Shardul Thakur has been traded from Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of the IPL 2026 auction. The 34-year-old has been traded from LSG to MI for his existing player fee of ₹2 crore.After going unsold at the IPL 2025 auction, Thakur joined the Lucknow franchise as an injury replacement for Mohsin Khan. The experienced cricketer played 10 matches for LSG in IPL 2025, claiming 13 wickets at an average of 28.84 and an economy rate of 11.02, with a best of 4-34. Overall, Thakur has played 105 IPL matches in which he has claimed 107 scalps and has scored 325 runs.Mohammad ShamiSeasoned Team India pacer Mohammad Shami has been traded from Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to LSG. The trade is likely to be an all-cash deal for ₹10 crore, the price SRH paid to purchase the fast bowler at the IPL 2025 mega auction.Shami, who has been in the news for his non-selection in the Indian team recently, had a poor IPL 2025 season for SRH. In nine matches, he claimed six wickets at an average of 56.16 and an economy rate of 11.23. The fast bowler’s overall fitness has also been a concern in recent times.Sherfane RutherfordWest Indies all-rounder Sherfane Rutherford has been traded from Gujarat Titans (GT) to MI. The left-handed batter moves to the Mumbai franchise for his existing fee of ₹2.6 crore.Rutherford played 13 matches for GT in IPL 2025. In 11 innings, the 27-year-old contributed 291 runs at an average of 32.33 and a strike rate of 157.29, with a best of 46. He played some handy knocks for GT at the death. The southpaw had earlier represented Delhi Capitals (DC) in 2019 and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2022.Rutherford has played 44 T20I matches for West Indies and has scored 588 runs at a strike rate of 137.38. He holds the record for the highest sixth-wicket partnership in T20Is, having added 139 with Andre Russell against Australia in Perth in February 2024.Arjun TendulkarAll-rounder Arjun Tendulkar has been traded to LSG from MI for ₹30 lakh. A left-arm pacer and lower order batter, Arjun has played five IPL matches for the Mumbai franchise and has claimed three wickets at an average of 38 and an economy rate of 9.36. In his overall T20 career, the 26-year-old has played 24 matches, claiming 27 scalps and scoring 119 runs.Mayank Markande Leg-spinner Mayank Markande has been traded from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to his former franchise MI for his existing fee of ₹30 lakh. Markande has played 37 IPL matches so far and has claimed 37 scalps. Nitish RanaExperienced left-handed batter Nitish Rana will be part of the Delhi Capitals (DC) franchise for IPL 2026 following a trade from RR. The southpaw has been traded for his existing fee of ₹4.2 crore. Rana has played 118 IPL games and represented KKR from 2018 to 2024. Donovan Ferreira South African all-rounder Donovan Ferreira has been traded from DC to RR, which was the cricketer's first IPL franchise. As part of the trade deal, Ferreira's fees has been increased from ₹75 lakh to ₹1 crore.
