The greatest Test bowlers of all time have historically piled up impressive numbers in a variety of categories. While overall wickets, bowling averages, and strike rates traditionally define a bowler's legacy in the red-ball format, the accumulation of other match-wise milestones often highlights the number of impactful performances they have delivered.Central in the second category are the numbers of five-wicket hauls in an innings and 10-wicket match hauls produced by a bowler in his Test career. While the former is usually in abundance in the kitty of most legendary bowlers, picking up half or, in some cases, more than half the team's wickets (10) isn't commonplace for even the best bowlers.Only the legendary spin duo of Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne have picked up 10-wicket match hauls 10 or more times among bowlers. Pace bowlers traditionally find it harder to take 10 wickets in a Test match, given their considerably lesser number of overs in a game, compared to the tweakers.Former New Zealand all-rounder Sir Richard Hadlee boasts the most 10-wicket match hauls in Tests among fast bowlers with nine.Surprisingly, a few of the all-time legendary Test bowlers have failed to register even a single 10-wicket haul in a match. Here, we look at five world-class bowlers who are missing a 10-wicket match haul on their stellar Test resumes.5 world-class bowlers who don’t have a 10-wicket haul in Tests#1 Jasprit BumrahTeam India pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been on a historic run in Tests by picking up wickets for fun with the red ball. The 31-year-old boasts the best average among bowlers with over 200 wickets at 19.52.The champion pacer has also riled off five-wicket hauls in a Test innings at will, with 16 in only 51 outings. Yet, Bumrah is still to tick the 10-wicket match haul box, with his best match figures being 9/86.The right-arm seamer achieved the same during India's memorable maiden Test series win in Australia in 2018/19. With the series tied at 1-1, Bumrah ran through the Australian lineup, with six wickets in the first innings and three in the second, helping India pull off a 137-run victory. The veteran just added another five-wicket haul in his bag in the ongoing first Test against South Africa in Kolkata. With the pitch offering plenty for fast bowlers, the time may be ideal for Bumrah to complete his first 10-wicket match haul.#2 Brett LeeBrett Lee's express pace had batters on their toes at all times [Credit: Getty]Former Australian pacer Brett Lee was renowned for his ability to run through the opposition on his day with a flurry of wickets. The speedster finished with an incredible 310 wickets in 76 Tests at an average of 30.81.However, despite boasting 10 five-wicket hauls, Lee never completed the magical 10-wicket match haul in red-ball cricket. His best-ever match figures of 9/171 came in Australia's thumping innings win against New Zealand at the Adelaide Oval in 2008.Incidentally, Lee retired from Test cricket a month later, with his farewell outing coming against South Africa in the Boxing Day Test.#3 Josh HazlewoodJosh Hazlewood has led the Australian new-ball attack in style in Tests for the past decade [Credit: Getty]Another Australian fast-bowling great, still playing Test cricket, Josh Hazlewood is searching for his elusive 10-wicket match haul in the red-ball format. The 34-year-old is five short of 300 overall wickets in Tests at an average of 24.21.Hazlewood boasts an impressive 13 five-wicket hauls in his Test career, but his best match figures remain 9/79, achieved last year against the West Indies in Adelaide. After a four-wicket first innings, the miserly pacer produced a five-wicket haul in the second to help the hosts win by 10 wickets.#4 Joel GarnerMost millennials and later generations have almost unanimously heard Joel Garner stories and his terrorizing effect on batters. The former West Indian pacer boasts one of the best bowling averages in Tests at 20.97 in his 58-match career. The intimidating fast-bowler finished with 259 Test scalps, including seven 5-wicket hauls. Yet, Garner never scaled the biblical 10-wicket match haul for the West Indies in Tests, with his best match figures being 9/108.The performance came in a thrilling draw against Australia in Georgetown in 1984. Garner picked up six wickets in the first innings and seemed destined for 10, but the final Aussie pair held fort to help the side salvage a draw.#5 Morne MorkelFormer South African pacer Morne Morkel made batters' lives at the crease uncomfortable with his ability to generate steep bounce and terrifying pace. The now-41-year-old finished his stellar Test career with 309 wickets at an average of 27.66, including eight 5-wicket hauls.Yet, he was another seamer stuck on nine wickets in a Test match, with his best figures being 9/110. Morkel's nine-wicket match haul came in the infamous Cape Town Test of the 2018 series against Australia. The tall right-armer picked up four in the first innings, followed by a five-wicket second innings as the Proteas triumphed by a massive 322 runs.
