India A are all set to commence their participation in the Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025, which will begin on Friday, November 14. The side will take on the United Arab Emirates in a Group B clash in Doha.

There are a number of competitions happening simultaneously. Apart from the Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025, an A team is taking on South Africa in a three-match one-day series in Rajkot just as the senior side face off against the Proteas in a two-Test rubber.

As a result, the BCCI have made some interesting calls while picking the squads for these tournaments. Some players can consider themselves unfortunate to have not been named in the contingent.

Stand-by players: Gurnoor Singh Brar, Kumar Kushagra, Tanush Kotian, Sameer Rizvi, Shaik Rasheed.

On that note, here are three players who were unlucky to miss out on India A's squad for the Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025.

#3 Prabhsimran Singh

Interestingly, Prabhsimran Singh has been named in the 50-over side to face off against South Africa A. However, with Ishan Kishan being picked as the frontline wicket-keeper, the young right-hander warmed the bench during the first outing in Rajkot.

More importantly, India have their keeping options sorted in the ODI format. KL Rahul is irreplacable in the middle order, while Rishabh Pant, Dhruv Jurel and Sanju Samson are the other candidates vying for the backup spot. There's virtually no room for a gloveman who opens the batting.

In the T20I format, however, Samson's form has been inconsistent. Jitesh Sharma hasn't nailed down his spot either, and Prabhsimran's performances in the Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025 could have prompted the selectors to look in his direction in the near future.

#2 Ravi Bishnoi

India have picked just one wrist-spinner in their squad for the Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025 - Suyash Sharma. While picking the Royal Challengers Bengaluru star was a smart move, having two in their ranks would've helped in Doha.

Ravi Bishnoi hasn't been in great form lately, but his potential is obvious. The Lucknow Super Giants man's googlies and quick speed through the air would've been tough to counter for most teams in the tournament, and giving him some game time would've helped him immensely.

#1 Angkrish Raghuvanshi

India A have a number of exciting young batters in their ranks, but they don't have many specialists at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions. Naman Dhir, Ashutosh Sharma, Ramandeep Singh and Suryansh Shedge are all used as finishers by their Indian Premier League franchises, while Nehal Wadhera has a flexible role with the Punjab Kings.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi would've been a good choice to take up one of those spots in the top four. Likened to Suryakumar Yadav, the young right-hander has made an impression in the IPL. And while he wasn't at his best during the 2025 edition, he certainly has a sky-high ceiling.

Raghuvanshi would've been perfect for a tour like the Rising Stars Asia Cup, where he would've got considerable exposure.
