Team India will lock horns against South Africa in the ICC Women’s World Cup final 2025 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, November 2. The Women in Blue are coming on the back of a record run chase against Australia in the semifinal, where they won by five wickets to enter the final. They, however, have to beat the Proteas Women, who have already defeated them by three wickets earlier in the ongoing ICC event last month.
India Women are yet to win a title since the tournament began in 1973. They will be looking to get third time lucky and end their ICC trophy drought. They will have to bury the past, having lost the 2005 and 2017 finals against Australia and England, respectively. Like India, Laura Woolvardt-led South Africa will also be eyeing a maiden World Cup title.
All eyes will be on in-form players Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Smriti Mandhana, and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur.
In this article, we will reveal three Indian players who will play their second WC final after 2017.
3 Indians in Women's World Cup 2025 final squad who also played the 2017 final ft. Smriti Mandhana
Smriti Mandhana

Smriti Mandhana has been in prime form in the ongoing World Cup. She is currently the second-highest run-getter in the tournament, scoring 389 runs in eight innings at an average of 55.5, including one ton and two half-centuries. With 5,277 runs in 116 innings, she is also the leading run-scorer for the Women in Blue among active players.
Mandhana will be keen to make amends, having departed for a four-ball duck in the 2017 final against England. A century will help her equal former Australian captain Meg Lanning (15) for the joint-highest tons in ODIs. Thus, she would be looking to rise to the occasion.
Deepti Sharma

Like Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma had a forgetful outing against England in the 2017 World Cup final. In that game, she returned wicketless for 39 runs in her nine overs and then managed 14 runs off 12 deliveries. The 28-year-old is currently ranked among the top five all-rounders in the 50-overs format.
The right-handed batter has amassed 2681 runs in 120 matches at an average of 36.72 with the help of one century and 17 fifties. The off-spinner has also bagged 157 wickets at an economy rate of 4.38.
She is currently the joint-highest wicket-taker alongside Australian all-rounder Annabel Sutherland (17) in the ongoing World Cup 2025. With the Aussies knocked out of the final, Deepti will be looking to become the Player of the Tournament.
Harmanpreet Kaur

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur is coming on the back of a brilliant outing with the bat against Australia in the World Cup semifinal. The senior batter slammed 89 runs off 88 balls to help India win the game by five wickets. She also scored a run-a-ball 70 against England earlier in the tournament.
The Punjab all-rounder had played a goliath 171-run knock against Australia to help the Women in Blue enter the 2017 final as well. She also scored a fighting fifty in the tournament final against England, where India fell short by nine runs. Having represented India in the 2009, 2012/13, 2017, and 2022 World Cups, Harmanpreet Kaur will be looking to finally taste victory by winning the 2025 final.
