After the fifth T20I in Brisbane was washed out due to persistent rains, India clinched the series by a 2-1 margin. The Men in Blue continued their excellent winning streak in bilateral white-ball assignments.
It was far from a perfect performance for India. They struggled to balance their team without Hardik Pandya, and poor performances from the likes of Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav didn't help matters. At the same time, however, the visitors had plenty to be happy about in the lead-up to the 2026 T20 World Cup.
On that note, here are three big positives for Team India from their T20I series win against Australia.
#3 Abhishek Sharma adapted brilliantly to Aussie conditions

Abhishek Sharma has done well adapting to various conditions in his T20I career so far, and the same continued Down Under. Although he was rushed by bounce at times and received a few reprieves, the aggressive left-hander did well to give his team flying starts at the top of the order.
Abhishek has well and truly nailed down an opening role in the format. His dynamic approach has stood the test of various conditions and opposition bowlers, even when he hasn't had any support at the other end.
#2 Axar Patel had a standout series

Another player whose performances in overseas conditions was previously under the scanner, Axar Patel has performed well in unfriendly conditions with both bat and ball. The all-rounder impressed in both departments Down Under.
Axar stood up to the task against Australia's power-packed right-handers, not giving them any room and using angles smartly from the crease. Even though he didn't get much turn from any of the venues, the left-arm spinner kept things tight and even provided regular breakthroughs.
Axar also chipped in with a couple of cameos despite his batting position varying a lot. He has consistently worked on his weaknesses and become close to a complete white-ball player for the Men in Blue.
#1 Arshdeep Singh stepped up despite long periods on the bench

Arshdeep Singh was left out of the first two T20Is against Australia, with Harshit Rana being prioritized due to his batting depth. That has been a regular pattern over the last few months, with the Men in Blue needing someone to bat at No. 8 while fielding Varun Chakaravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav in tandem.
Once Arshdeep came into the playing XI, though, he showed no signs of rustiness and made an immediate impact. The left-armer seamer kicked off his tour with a Player of the Match award and troubled the Aussie openers on a consistent basis. The highest wicket-taker for the country in the format, he hasn't done much to warrant being dropped from the side for any reason.
