The final T20I at The Gabba is Brisbane proved to be a damp squib as India ran out 2-1 winners in the five-match series against Australia. A couple of washouts marred what was an otherwise exciting clash between two world-class sides.

There were many positives for India. Players like Abhishek Sharma and Axar Patel performed well, while the bowling unit stood up to the task against the might of the Aussies. At the same time, however, it was far from a perfect outing for the Men in Blue.

On that note, here are three areas of concern for Team India from their T20I series win over Australia.

#3 Sanju Samson's form and batting position are questionable

Midway through the India vs Australia T20I series, the visitors decided to drop Sanju Samson. The keeper-batter looked out of sorts in the middle order, and with the top four spots being occupied, the team chose to field Jitesh Sharma instead.

Gautam Gambhir and Suryakumar Yadav have been vocal about wanting to back Samson through thick and thin, but those words have fallen short of reality. The right-hander has played a few notable knocks against South Africa and Bangladesh, and although his form hasn't been all that great, the think tank don't seem keen on giving him his preferred position.

Jitesh played a good cameo, but he remains uncertain in the format. India need to have a good long think about Samson and his role in the side.

#2 Has Shubman Gill done enough?

Shubman Gill seemed to be in pristine touch at The Gabba, but on the whole, he didn't do enough. A scratchy knock in Carrara was preceded by a few failures, and India wouldn't have been satisifed with his efforts Down Under.

The likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal are on the bench, and the Men in Blue need to ask themselves whether Gill is the right man for the job. The right-hander has a heavy workload in the other two formats, and having him as a central figure in T20Is isn't necessary.

#1 India's team balance in T20Is is still off

India had to contend without Hardik Pandya throughout the T20I series against Australia, and it left a major hole in their lineup. In fact, even with Hardik, the Men in Blue will likely struggle to give themselves enough pace options in the XI.

India tried to make up for that by playing Axar Patel and Washington Sundar alongside Varun Chakaravarthy, giving themselves batting until No. 8. That should be fine in the T20 World Cup, which will be played in the subcontinent. But even then, Kuldeep Yadav could be left out of the side.

There's no real solution for India, who will have to make do without an ideal side. Their series in Australia, which saw Nitish Kumar Reddy absent and Shivam Dube being used for a couple of overs in each game, didn't give them any real insight in that regard.
