Sherrone Moore has been in the spotlight after Michigan fired the coach on Wednesday for having an "inappropriate relationship with a staff member." Later in the day, it was reported that Moore was in jail for an alleged assault after breaking into the home of his executive assistant, Paige Shiver, with a knife in hand.According to a dispatch audio of a 911 call at around 4 p.m., Moore threatened to kill himself with a knife after losing his coaching job at Michigan. It also claimed that the former Wolverines coach had been stalking Shiver for months.“Caller told her there’s a male at the location and he’s been stalking her for months,” one dispatcher relayed. “The subject is suicidal after losing his job today.”The dispatcher said the caller reported Moore had thrown down the knife after brandishing it, before running away. It was claimed that Moore then fled Shiver's apartment and fled on foot before being arrested at a nearby church.“It’s gonna be at the Well Church, 211 Willis Road … suicidal … driving a black Chevy Tahoe blacked out,” a Washtenaw County police dispatcher was heard saying.Morre remained in jail on Thursday. He is scheduled to have his first court appearance on Friday.Moore has been married to his wife, Kelli, since 2015. However, Michigan Athletic Director Warde Manuel allegedly dismissed Moore alone on Wednesday with no HR representative and no security present. Moore compiled an 18-8 record as Michigan's head coach. He led the program to a 9-3 record this regular season and had a victory in the lone game he coached in Jim Harbaugh’s absence during the 2023 season.
