Not all the comments were overly enthusiastic.

One said, "Translation - I negotiated a better offer and they matched it."
Another added, "Yea whatever….."
One chimed in, saying, "Had the biggest bag."

Chris Henry Jr. currently attends Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, CA. He decided to stick with the Ohio State Buckeyes rather than accept offers from Oregon and USC.

The news comes as a relief for Buckeyes fans as some worried that Henry Jr. would flip his commitment due to Brian Hartline's impending departure to coach USF. Hartline is the Buckeyes' offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach. He also enjoyed a successful NFL career as a wideout.

Henry Jr. is tipped to replace Carnell Tate as Ohio's WR2 in 2026. Tate is likely going to declare for the 2026 draft, and that leaves a starting lineup spot alongside Jeremiah Smith there for the taking.

Chris Henry Jr. set to join Wide Receiver U

Chris Henry Jr. is the newest member of Wide Receiver U. The Ohio State Buckeyes have produced some of college football's finest wide receivers, and most of them have gone on to thrive in the NFL.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba is currently a favorite for Offensive Player of the Year. He set numerous school records while at Ohio State and is now on pace to break Calvin Johnson's record for most receiving yards in a season.

Other standout alumni of Wide Receiver U are Terry McLaurin of the Washington Commanders, Garrett Wilson of the New York Jets, Chris Olave of the New Orleans Saints, and rookie sensation Emeka Egbuka of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Chris Henry Jr. will look to follow in their footsteps while learning from Jeremiah Smith in 2026.
